Definitely not! Your friend will be able to dive one day yes but definitely not directly after a Hip replacement. This is based on experience and observation in the frontline. Don't dive before 100% recovery. Of course ask you Doctor first but leave at least 3 months for a simple fracture. Some Docs will maybe do not know the influence of nitrogen over saturation in the body. Maybe 1 year for a bigger operation if not prescribed longer from you specialist. It's difficult to give a general rule but avoiding diving before having finished the physiotherapy period seems safe to me.
