 Which Rebreather?
Boris looks good and is deliberately engineered to overcome many of the problems of the YBOD. However the owners seem to be doing the product development with lots of reports of having to return units for fettling.
The KISS sport is another properly engineered rebreather. It requires more input from the user instead of relying on troublesome electronics.
However there have been a lot of rebreather deaths the last year, people seem to be so used to this that they no longer attract much attention.
People using them say that they know the risks but ask them what the MTBF and failiure modes of an injector solenoid are and they don't know. |
