There are surely hundreds of “best dive destinations”, always depending on your preferences and on your home location. For the European divers I am sure, the Red Sea is the best location to spend diving holidays. Because of the small distance it’s worth to go there even for one week. Only the Maledives are comparable with its variety of corals and fish. The visibility most the year is great and the water temperature is not becoming less than 20°C. For beginners it’s suitable, because there are a lot of shallow spots without current. On the other hand also the experienced divers can find everything they like, either a lot of interesting wrecks or gigantic drop offs. Even though the reputation of the Red Sea had to bear a lot in the last years, it’s my conviction that the Red Sea still is one of the best diving spots in the world! I don’t miss one year diving over there for at least 2 weeks.
