Re: Lift Bag Lift ??? Hi Andy,
The volume of a lift bag determines its lifting capacity. Nearly on all lift bags offered on the diving market the capacity is declared.
Disregarding the difference in sweet or salt water, roughly a 50 litre bag can lift a 50 kg object from underwater.
The Archimedes' principle states that the buoyant force on an object is going to be equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object.
Example:an object’s weight is 10N, by sinking it displaces water of 3N weight.
Buoyancy reduces the apparent weight of objects that have sunk.
Like this its buoyant force will be: 10N - 3N = 7N.
So, to lift it up, more than 7N are needed. |
