Unhappy Diving without certification possibility??

I and my wife are going next summer for a trip to the Caribbean, we dream of diving but never had time to do it, so what are the possibilities to dive without having a certification, what are the options that we have?

Cheers

Hi Darkblue
Intersting topic, and a question which is aked many times. You are lucky as you actually have several options to dive without previous experience and certifications. At this point I would suggest that you are looking for a good and repuitable dive operation. There is many asscociations you can look for PADI, SSI, NAUI etc. Just make sure that you are happy with the outlet, the dive professional and the equipment they are using. There is usually no problem to see the dive equipment, compressor etc.
The program you are looking for is an Experience Program and has various names. They descriptions range from Discover Scuba Diving to Trial Dives, and Resort Dives. Typically these progarms take 3 to 4 hours of your time, and may be structured as follows: Starting by completing a little bit of paperwork and then a brief Knowledge Development Session (about 30-40 minutes) where you learn the basics of under water communication, equalization and safety topics. This is follwed by an introduction to the diving equipment used, such as BCD's, Regulators and the use of it. Then you will be going into shallow water where you will be learning some basic skills enabling you to enjoy the underwater environment. This very likely will be follwed by an open water dive. This is what you have been looking for. You will be diving (and guided by a dive pro) and see the fantastic underwater world. The Caribean offers some outstanding diving and the marine life is stunning. I am sure you will be having a great time. After this experience you will be able to go diving during the rest of your holidays or you take the first step to get your diving qualification.
The other option you have is that you start your Entry level Course at home. This means that you are qualified before you are going on holiday, or you complete the knowledge development and confined water (Pool) training at home and complete the exciting open water dives while you are on holiday. The latter is often called a "Referral".
I hope this information is helful. Should you need any further information then just let me know.

Always safe diving

Thumbs up Re: Diving without certification possibility??

Hello DiveDevil
Thanks for your quick response, your information is really helpful, i think i will choose the Discover Scuba Diving program, as this is more fun and also i have no time to do it at home, also i think this will give me a closer look to real diving before going to open water diving as its not a pool dive, its a shallow water dive.

Again thanks for your response and help.
I hope it will be a safe diving
