Rep Power: 0 | | Re: Top wreck dive spots I think the best will be, Umbria, Wingate Reef, Sudan. For more adventurous Red Sea divers, the waters off Sudan offer great marine life and no crowds. Umbria was an Italian cargo ship scuttled in 1940 to avoid capture by the British, and is an impressive 400ft long. Starting at a depth of just 66ft, her lifeboats, munitions and four Fiat vehicles are scattered across the sandy seabed. The best way to see Umbria is from a comfortable live-aboard dive boat allowing diving safaris to the reefs at Sanganeb and to the underwater habitat left after Jacques Cousteau’s living experiment at Sha’ab Rumi in 1963.
Trust me you will enjoy it. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: Top wreck dive spots Wreck diving is great and can be done in many different places. In many areas you have some great wrecks. The best wreck dives, in my humble opinion, is "TRUK" and/or "BIKINI". These two places have so much history and so many different wrecks to dive on. Truk is a war battle ground and Bikini was a nuclear testing ground.
There is many places which are much nearer and also have great wrecks to dive on. In Cyprus there is a wreck called the "ZENOBIA". What a dive!! One of the top ten wreck dives. The Zenobia is a Roll on Roll off Ferry which sank in 1980, just a couple of miles outside of Larnaka harbour. The ferry lays on its port side in 42 metres of water. An awesome dive for beginning wreck divers as the starboard side is at 17 metres, but also a great dive for advanced wreck divers which like to penetrate a wreck.

Rep Power: 10 | | Re: Top wreck dive spots I think Truk Lagoon is unquestionably one of the world's best shipwreck diving destination. The number, variety, and size of the wrecks and the spectacular marine life that grows on them are unequalled. In February of 1944, Japan's fortress of Truk Lagoon was attacked by the US Task Force 58. More than 400 Japanese planes were wiped out and some 50-60 ships were believed sunk. The two days of devastating air assault created what is today known as the "Ghost Fleet of Truk Lagoon." During the past 50 years, these lifeless hulks have been transformed into magnificent artificial reefs, some with greater concentrations of soft and hard corals, sponges, and marine life than the neighbouring coral reefs. Some of the 35 wrecks that have been charted & explored are the Fukikawa Maru, a 437-foot freighter that served as an aircraft ferry, the Shinkoku Maru, a 500-foot intact tanker, the Sankisan Maru, a 380-foot freighter, the Hino Maru No. 2, a 200-foot cargo vessel whose bow gun nearly reaches the surface, and several war planes. On these wrecks, you may find such wartime relics as military trucks, cases of ammunition, field artillery pieces, airplanes and propeller blades, sake bottles, and machine guns.
This dive am sure you will enjoy a lot.
Cheers

Rep Power: 0 | | Labuan, Malaysia Labuan is Malaysian Federal Territory located 62 miles (115km) south of Kota Kinabalu and lies 5 miles (8km) off the mainland of Sabah (northern part of Borneo) at the northern Brunei Bay. Since early times, it has been a pivoting point in the maritime history of Borneo, with the first record of trading being visits by Chinese Junks to the Sultanate of Brunei. In the 1800's, Britain and other Colonial powers used Labuan as a trading and coaling station. The Island saw a lot of action during World War II from both the Allies' and Japanese navies and airforces. Up to now, Borneo Divers have identified four ship wrecks to dive on near Labuan; two from World War II and two from the 1980's. These ships lie in l00-115 feet (30-35m) of water, with the top portions at 25-70 feet (8-12m). Visibility varies greatly season to season (and even day to day) from 20 feet (6m) to 70 feet (20m). They have adopted the names these wrecks go by locally: "Cement" Wreck, "American" Wreck, "Australian" Wreck, and "Blue Water" Wreck. The "Cement" Wreck can be enjoyed by Open Water (novice) divers. For the "Blue Water" Wreck you must be an Advanced Diver with deeper diving experience logged. To penetrate and dive into the "American" or "Australian" Wreck, you must be certified as a Wreck Diver Specialty or have logged experience in wreck diving.
This is in my opinion one of the interesting wreck dive spots on our planet. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: Top wreck dive spots Australia is very well-known in the divers' world especially due to the Great Barrier Reef. However, this is not the only beautiful thing that Australia has to offer when it comes to scuba diving. Many divers choose this destination for its wreck diving as its waters shelter old ship wrecks. SS Yongala was a passenger ship that sank because of a cyclone and was discovered by people in 1958. Since then, the extraordinary ship that is used as a home for many sea creatures gets more and more visitors every day. HMAS Brisbane, another famous wreck of the Great Barrier Reef, was used in both the Vietnam War and the first Gulf War and it can now be visited by scuba diving in Queensland's waters.
Enjoy.. |

I personally enjoy the many Wreck along the Florida Coast, Daytona to The Keys, Tons of them, i did an expedition with a company there and was blown away at the variety. It think it's said that there is like 127 wreck along that coast, also the coral grown on these wrecks are tremendous.
