Rep Power: 0 | | Bull Sharks in Thailand Been working here on Koh Tao Thailand for a few years.
One of our deeper pinnacle dive sites has some pretty big bulls sharks - about 3M long.
That dive site gets hundreds of divers every day, yet despite their fearsome reputation, the sharks have never attacked a diver.
Many of the instructors lure the sharks in by taking down a plastic bottle which they crunch making a noise which the sharks come to investigate - certainly they seem to be interested by certain noises.
I also saw once, an idiot boat captain dropped the anchor right next to the pinnacle - the sound of the anchor grating against the rocks made the sharks very excited.
But my advice is they're not to be messed with and I wouldn't do anything to attract or antagonize them. As scuba divers we're diving to observe marine life passively - not to go down there and stir things up. In my opinion, that's just asking for trouble.

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: Shark dive advice? I never got to see a single shark despite many Red Sea dives, so I went to the Maldives instead: Whale shark:
White-tip reef shark:
Manta cleaning station:
None of these majestic creatures were interested in us divers! Just enjoy, if you're lucky enough to have a close encounter.
