Re: The best scuba dive sites to swim with sharks? Diving with sharks is something many of us want to do, and actually do as well. There is many areas you can go and dive with sharks. As I am sure you are aware there are many different shark species and they very much life in different areas. If you wish to dive with Great White Sharks then I think South Africa will be one of the best destinations to do so. Most the time this will be cage diving, but it is absolutely fantastic. South Afirca is also a very considerate country for the sharks and this kind of diving is heavily regulated in order to protect the sharks. South Africa is also well known for many other shark species. There is a compnay called "The Big Five" and they are specialsied in this kind of diving, including awesome land safaries. As the name suggests they are diving the big fives. Great White, Hammer, Tiger, Sand Tiger and Bullsharks.
The Gulf of Mexico is a great place to swimm with the gentle giant "The Whale Shark". In the months March, April to August these giants will come to the Gulf of Mexico because of its rich Plankton Bloom.
The Maldives are also very good for shark diving as well as some places in the Red Sea.
Cocos Island is one of the last paradies on this planet. This Island is about 280 miles southwest of Costa Rica in the Pacific Ocean. There you have the opportunity to see huge schools of hammerheads, whalesharks, manta rays and much more. What a place to dive.
This is a place I want to go and dive before I leave this planet for good.
Hope it helps.
