Rep Power: 0 | | Dive computer I would like to buy a new computer (nitrox) which I can also use as watch. I checked out and would like to take one of this:
Mares Nemo Excel
Oceanic Geo 2.0
Suunto D4
but I am not a professional, I have no idea which one is the best, the prices are more or less the same.
Anybody can give me an advice? |

yes, you're right, the prices and features of all those models are almost the same. Me I'm using a Suunto D4 and I'm fine with it, but I saw the Nemo used by a friend, its display has a higher contrast and the push buttons are easier to operate, especially with gloves. |

I think the best way to decide is to visit a dive shop, to take a look and grope the different computers. Take your gloves with you to check the handling.
If possible borrow it from anybody for one dive, to make sure that you are able to understand and to operate it, ‘cause YOU need to get familiar with it, nobody else! |

thanks for your comments, specially for the advice to test the handling with gloves, I would not have thought about that!

I am going to go with the MARES Nemo as it has the better display and also far better and easier menu options. The glove options are, as pointed out, very important, however, and depending where you are diving and how thick your gloves actually are, all the watch size wrist computers will not be accessible easily.
I hope that helps, and always safe diving.
