Rep Power: 0 | | New safety device - reasonable to have? Survey Dear buddies,
this is a link to a survey about a new safety product (I developed the survey in the framework of my Bachelor's Thesis) - divers who are from Australia or from the USA can help determining the market potential for the product by taking part: http://ww2.unipark.de/uc/UniPF_Ungerer_BuddyWatcher/
Looking forward to your comments
THANK YOU |

I went through your questionnaire, might be a useful thing, this buddy finder.
To attract more divers to participate on your survey it might be helpful to have some more info about the product directly here in the forum |

thank you for participating and commenting!!
Well, I thougt about providing some more information in advance, but decided to not influence answers in the questionnaire by doing so...
So you reckon more people would take part if I desribe more detailed what it is about?
Regards,

yes, I think you would get more attention if people know more details, in my point of view this would not influence the answers.

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: New safety device - reasonable to have? Survey Well okay the information I can give is restricted, but the functions of the device are:
- vibration as a warning signal as soon as you exceed the predifined distance to your dive partner
- display showing in what direction to find the buddy
- SOS-Button which will transmit a signal to your dive partner, letting hin know you need his help |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: New safety device - reasonable to have? Survey Sounds really useful, specially whilst diving in bad visibility. But even with good vis it might avoid incidents. Often seen: divers swimming "solo" with 20m or more distance to their buddies cause they still can "see" each others ! |

How important do you consider the 'buddy-compass' function? Do you think it would be a useful device if vibrates when you reach a critical distance and disposes of the alarm-button - - - or do you think it is essential to have the possibility to determine the dive partner's location?
Actually by warning the diver, it should PREVENT the buddy loss, so is the function of showing the direction unnecessary..? |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: New safety device - reasonable to have? Survey In my point of view the compass is important! Ex., the visibility decreases during the dive, the predifined distance might be not anymore applicable. |
