Rep Power: 0 | | Re: scubapro air 1 regulator It is a shame that your dive shop does not service your regulator anymore. They should provide this service, or at least advice you with regards to where this can be done. I am a service technician myself, and therefor legally I cannot give you any advise as to how to service your regulator. I suggest that you find your nearest Scubapro office, and then send the regulator to them. with this I mean Scubapro them self and not a Scubapro authorized shop. If you let me know in which area you are . I am happy to provide you with that information.
all the best and always safe diving!!

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: scubapro air 1 regulator hi divedevil, thanks for the reply. I live in Loveland Colorado, their are a couple shop around but they do not want to service it. I think I put the pre dive lever on wrong but cannot figure out how else it could go. that is why i am looking for a diagram of the parts. The regulator is in great shape and have been using it for over 30 years. Well maybe time for a new one. |

This is a Scubapro Platinum Dealer in Colorado. Not sure whether you have already dealt with them. If you have no choice then get on SCUBAPRO UWATEC | Deep Down You Want The Best - SCUBAPRO-UWATEC and contact them directly. I understand what you are saying with regards to the issues you have, but as mentioned before I can not suggest anything, neither can I send you any schematics for any scubapro products.
Maybe it is time to get new one. Remember this is a bail-out, back-up, or alternate air source regulator, and I am not sure I would like to dive with a dive buddy which is diving with an antique, even though it looks to be in great shape.
Bear in mind, that your AIR1 is a very old regulator, and most dealers don't even have schematics, and/or spare parts for such an old piece of equipment. I certainly don't, so if anybody is able to help you, then it wold be Scubapro direclty.
There is some fantastic Scubapro products out there, which are using the latest technologies. Maybe it is time to retire your Air1 one for a more up to date version. Again you can find all these products on SCUBAPRO UWATEC | Deep Down You Want The Best - SCUBAPRO-UWATEC or in your local dive shop!!
Sorry for not being able to assist directly, but I hope that you will be able to sort this out one way or another.
However it is my opinion that you should not service your own diving equipment, if you are not trained to do so, as your are putting your own life and the life of your dive-buddy at risk.
All the best and always safe diving.

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: scubapro air 1 regulator This is the exact same experience I have received from Scuba Pro. I have purchased all my gear from scuba pro. After the down economy my scuba pro dealer stopped carrying parts to service which resulted in me having to use another dealer. Once I tried the other dealer, I discovered all my warrantee and parts were no longer covered and they claim life-time on everything. Even the dive computer was no longer covered which results in having to ship the computer to scuba pro, then pay 125 for a new battery. They no longer make the uwatec smartcom so my hunch, they will no longer support that computer soon. I have learned now to purchase scuba gear which is easy to service myself and parts are easy to find and everyone knows them. I am really liking Dive Rite, Halcyon, Oceanic, Aqua Lung. Granted some of the gear is more expensive, but once purchased my Halcyon will blow away the knight hawk in service, and lasting quality. |

Although it can be difficult to self service compared to most 2nd stages, when properly serviced it is a great breathing regulator. Just because the AIR1 is old is not by itself a reason to be concerned about performance and dependability. New service kits are still made by ScubaPro for the AIR1.
It is rare to find a service manual for the AIR1, but there does happen to be one listed on E-bay now. I would like to purchase it myself, but I'm not willing to pay the asking price. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: scubapro air 1 regulator 1st off did you get the regulator new, as the only owner, from a autherized scubapro dealer? If you do not have your registrion card, you can get a new one from scubapro. The store might want to sell you a new regulator, and this is not the case. Contact Scubapro at

tell them your issues, they will then direct the dealer that is close to you to sell you a replacement regulator, at there Key Man prices. This price is 20% off of the Dealer price, the key man program is so store owners can get gear for them self, and shop employess, this is a huge savings from retail. Several years ago I had to retire my Air 1 because of no parts as well, and I got a new s600 mk 25, at the key man price. The issue is not Scubapro it is the dealer, not wanting to help you out and wanting selling you a new reg.... HOW EVER THIS IS ONLY IF YOU ARE THE ORGIONAL OWNER! if you got the reg used you are out of luck..... |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: scubapro air 1 regulator It is said to me that the local dive shops are not wanting to honor the life time parts warranty and are willing lose a customer over the cost of a repair kit that cost the dealer 13.00 for both stages, I have had stores in FL try to cut up my warranty card because I was 3 days past my annual, at that time My uncle still had his Subapro dealership and I knew ( and still know) a few people at Sucuba Pro, One quick call to their Sales rep and it the store was set straight, I got my parts, for free and the store was made by the rep provide my service for free as well. The program does give some common sense for a laps of the annual requirement, the Dealers have a HUGE Leeway, and ScubaPro does not care at all, if it has been more than a year, like 2 or more, you will have to by the kit, but after that as long as you do your regular serviced you will still get parts for life, the store that my uncle ran if we did have to charge for parts we sold them to the customer, at our cost, making our prophet only on labor. The customer loyalty is well worth more than the mark up of a repair kit. Some stores have OUT RAGOUS Mark ups on their repair kits 300% or more. The brick and mortar, stores have to get a clue, because they are and will continue to lose business to on line sales Craigslist and E-bay when they continue to not provide the service, that they should, and that SCUBAPRO expects from there dealers.ffice ffice" />>> |
