Rep Power: 0 | | Apollo Drysuits Has anyone used Apollo Dry suits before?I could get a current review of their suits. If you have one, how do you like the foot valves? Thanks. |

Rep Power: 10 | | Re: Apollo Drysuits I recently picked up a very gently used Apollo dry suit. I only have a few dives on it so I am still forming my opinion of the suit. So far, I like it. The foot valves do work well, but eventually I probably will seal them off. The exhaust valve has only an auto and a lock setting. I most likely will try and replace that with a quality, adjustable valve at some time in the future. I probably would not have purchased one new, however, I found a great deal that I could not pass up. Keep watching the classifieds, there are some good deals to be found on some nearly new drysuits.

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: Apollo Drysuits I own an Apollo DrySuit and LOVE IT. It really does feel like I am wearing a wetsuit. Very moveable. Regarding the foot valves. I feel they are too sensitive. The air I add seems to quickly go right to me feet and out the valve without resistance. My feet are level with my chest. I have to wear 2.5 pounds on each to do so and still air goes right out. They say in the manual you take the valve apart and use any plug. I don't understand that. What, "any plug" like gum perhaps. ha ha. Anyways the suit is durable. The seals are not latex but a more comfortable and plyable material. More expensive though too. So if they do tear you may need to take it into your local dive shop and replace it with Latex. It's much cheeper and steel works great. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: Apollo Drysuits I have the same problem. I have started a forum with this exact problem. Most beleive I am not level. May or may not be true but I have to not use my intergrated weights from my BCD and put them all in a belt. This way more wieght is shifted aft. Though not a big change but when you are talking about balance, everything counts. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: Apollo Drysuits dry suits with valves on the ankles is not good. accidental loss of air in your suit is uncomfortable and causes you to reequalize your suit using more air. alot of cave divers and wreck divers use gators to prevent air from going to their feet. I use jet fins which are negative buoyant and I let a little air goto my feet to keep me horizonal. Ive dove alot of different drysuits and the suits dont matter as much as developing good control over the air in your suit. but whites and dui (cave cut) are the best suits to me. |
