Post what's different between holding and canister light?

Id asked and chosen between Brightstar DarkBuster 24W HID and UK cannon 100.

And I decided to have Brightstar DarkBuster 24W HID because I think it has good C/P value.
I can have 1750 Lumens light and ONLY have to pay $3-400. And also it comes with Lithium ion rechargeable battery and car adapter, so that I can save money form buying battery and I can easily charge it on my way to diving.

But now I got another question, whats different between holding and canister light?
Whats the advantages and disadvantages of both?

Any and all thoughts are more than welcome.

Default Re: what's different between holding and canister light?

One light you hold in your hand, and the other you strap onto your waist strap of your backplate/ harness and the light hooks to the back of your hand. (bad and good mixed together) canister lights are more expensive, have rechargable sealed batteries, allow you to use both hands, hard to use with a vest type bcd, you wont loose it by accidentally dropping it. I use a canister light as my main light and 2 small hand lights as back up. look at niterider website for diving canister lights.
