You will find a lot of peoples preferences as all our needs change to what is most useful and comfortable to us. At first keep it simple I would like to suggest to just rent different equipment brands. Most places have many selections for you to rent then when you find something you like you can do the investment. Also look for a brand that is serviced in your area as you will need to keep your equipment in top condition and have it checked regularly. Brands are like shopping for clothes there is no THE BEST it is only preference. I prefer light weight equipment usually the middle of the line. I have been using Sherwood Oasis Regs because it is easy to service, comfortable, and light weight but there are other good brands, too.

The Atomic Aquatics Mask Box is Atomic's exclusive low profile travel case protects your mask in the dive bag and takes up only half the space of common mask boxes. All Atomic Vision masks are designed to fold flat to fit in a pocket or our compact travel case. A great way to protect your investment.

There is quite a few options out there. We also need to now other things.

I know I prefer dry suits with a removable liner. The regulator should not be fancy, but the gauges should be within your operative skills.

Buy your suit to start with and rent the rest until you get the feel of what you want.

Good luck.

Jess

Hi to everyone. I am a new member. I come from Greece and i am underwater archaeologist. I will visit Alexandria the next month and i would like to find if there is a dive store there. I want to buy all the dive equipment. I prefer staff from Poseidon company. If someone knows some stores in Alexandria, i would like to inform me. With thanks, Alex!
