Question Equipment storage for the winter

Being that I live in eastern Canada and have snow half the year I need to store my equipment for the winter. Can anyone tell me the best way to protect my regulator for long term storage? I was told that the regulator can dry up inside.
I also need to know if it’s necessary to take to battery out of my dive computer before storage.

Storing Diving Equipment is not a problem at all. Make sure that all the equipment is nicely cleaned and rinsed in fresh water and completely dry. Store it at a dry place, preferably somewhere in a relatively warm place. Keep wetsuits hung up on a suitable hanger and put a normal plastic suit cover over it. For a dry suit, cover the latex seals with talcum powder before storing. The regulators in a Regulator bag or hanging with the suits. I would not suggest that you are taking the battery out of your computer as all data will be lost, and the power usage when not in use is minimal.
As you are living in Canada, make sure the equipment is not stored in a place where it is very cold, and temperatures are going up and down.
Do some preparations before you start diving again. Take the kit out and have the BCD and regulators serviced by an authorised service technician, before using it. Also make sure you check the suits you are using, in particular the dry suit seals on your wrist and neck, as well as the valves on the suit.
With all this in mind you will be able to use your diving equipment for many dives safely.
All the best during hibernation and looking froward to hearing from you about diving in Canada in Spring, which must be in July, I guess !!! :-)
Happy New Year

You say to make sure the equipment is not stored in a place where it is very cold. I store it in the basement of my house in a room that I keep at 10 C (50 F). I hope this is not to cold.

Diving in Québec and Ontario starts about the end of May for some, we can feel comfortable with a 14mm wet suit, boots, gloves and hood if we don’t go to deep.

This temperature is not too bad, as long it does not get colder. Just have everything checked well before you are going to use it in May. :-)
all the best for winter and the coming diving season.

Hello

to store your equipment make sure you rinse the well with fresh water (keep them for a few ours in fresh water, and but some water in the BCD to rinse it from inside) then dray them very good, now its ready to store them, to store the BCD inflate it with air so it doesn't stuck and damage, hung the suit covered with plastic bag and you can put the regulator with the rest of the stuff in box together, tray to keep all of them in worm and dry place, and to use them in next holiday to wast the money by take them to the woke shop for maintenance but you can go to dive with them with your dive budy but the dive must be very simple and in quite place to check your equipment if it works so well done if there is any thing not comfortable or broken so you take it to the work shop 99% of the divers do this and its very safe. have nice dive trip
