Best Places To Live And Scuba In The U.S.A.

My wife and I were at the outdoor pool this morning at our homeowners association, and we met two Canadians visiting our state for the first time. That began a discussion about what is the best place to live and scuba dive in the USA.

Here is the list we came up with, starting with the best:

1. Hawaii
2. Florida
3. The Carolinas
4. California
5. Oregon & Wash St.
6. Michigan
7. Texas
8. Georgia

The Big Island's volcanic underwater topography is a diver's wonderland. Lava tubes, bommies, arches and huge craters like “Au Au Crater,” create a spectacular backdrop for Hawaii’s many indigenous species of buttlerfly fish. Photographers will delight in the many patient subjects like Spanish Dancers, turtles, mantas and frogfish. The standard Kona Aggressor II scuba itinerary is Saturday-to-Saturday with five and one-half days of diving. Guests may board Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is served on board Saturday evening followed by the Captain’s briefing. Friday afternoon, the Kona Aggressor II returns to Kailua-Kona Bay. Guests may spend the afternoon shopping, sight seeing or just relaxing on board until the evening cocktail party hosted by the crew. After the party, everyone will dine at a local restaurant. This is the only meal not included in the charter. Saturday morning check-out is 8:00 a.m.

yea nice ... this sounds like a good dive! personally i don't mind these sort of trips. anyone got other suggestions?

The Tampa Bay is one of the more shark infested areas in the world. The area off of Indian River County is considered some of the best scuba diving due to the number of shipwrecks in the area over the last four centuries.
