Information on Ambergris Caye

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ambergris Caye with my parents and a girlfriend in September. We're from Calgary and my parents from Toronto. We're looking for information on getting to the island. We're hoping to stay in a condo on the beach if possible for the first week close to San Pedro and then want to move into San Pedro - hotel or condo for the second week. There doesn't seem to be much information on flights or how to get from Belize City to San Pedro out there. Or I'm looking in the wrong places. Does anyone have info or tips on where to look for flights to Belize and transportation - modes of and cost of - from Belize to San Pedro? Any hints on a good condo or hotel would also be appreciated. Of course any advice on Dive operators and good dive sites is also welcome though there seems to be lots of info on the dive boards about that.

Hi

The transportation from the Airport to the Island of Ambergris is easy. You can take Tropic Air and fly over to San Pedro for approx 80 US Dollar or take the Watertaxi for 25 US Dollar. Flight is only 14 minutes and the Watertaxi takes approx 75 minutes. I life on Ambergris and would recommend you to stay in the North of the island. There are Watertaxis going to town every hour and it only takes 10-15 Minutes. Town will probably not be the place where you want to stay...you will see.

The Belizean Shores Resort or the Coco Beach Resort are great.
Both have Condos and the best/biggest Pools on the Island.
Dive and Tour Center is right at the Hotel peer. You can easy find them on the Web.
