Cabo San Lucas...Sea of Cortez

I've heard that there are a lot of big animals in the Sea of Cortez, near Cabo San Lucas - which would make for an Exciting Dive - Whale Sharks, Blue Whales, etc.

Would you guys recommend this location for a beginning diver?
