Dominican Republic

Does anyone know of any good dive operators in the Dominican Republic? I'll be staying in Santo Domingo, but I will travel to one of the resort areas (Puerto Plata or Punta Cana) for a long weekend. Either spot preferable for diving? I'm very new to diving and only have my Open Water certification. Thanks for any suggestions!
