Default Where to go to scuba?

Id like to go somewhere this summer. My g/f and I are certified scuba divers. Where would someone recommend? Price is no object. We are interested in possibly an all-inclusive. We were thinking somewhere in the Carribean, Mexico, or Hawaii. While scuba diving is a major consideration, finding a nice place to have a relaxing vacation is more important. Id like to find somewhere where its the best of both worlds.
Please include where to stay in your answer.

thanks!

Diving in Thailand is mega cool in Summer! It's not so hot and the vivibility is good. Koh Tao is an island in the Gulf of Thailand, where you can get cheap diving certifications and have about 35 dive sites near by the island ad a few deeper sites about an hour away from Koh Tao. The 'other side' of Thailand, the Andaman Sea is better from November to April - May but nevertheless, one of the greatest places for liveaboard diving in the world. Hope this helps a bit and maybe see you soon in Thailand :-)

Personally I know each people interested in this scuba diving has their own preferences and the choice of places also depend on these aspects.
Great Barrier Reef,Truk Lagoon, Sharm el sheik and Maldives are some of the places where I have visited and had a great time. My preferences are always towards a good wreck dive. However this does not mean I am not interested in exploring the newer places. The Grand Cayman Islands incidentally was a new one for me and wish to experience the place sometime in the future.

Thumbs up Re: Where to go to scuba?

I've just been in Koh Phangan, Thailand and was diving on "Sailrock". Around Koh Phangan itself are some cool dive sites too but for sure the best dive site in the Gulf of Thailand is Sailrock. Most of the diving companies from Koh Phangan schedule their dive trips either to Sailrock or to the neighbor island Koh Tao where there are a lot more dive sites around the island.
When you want to dive from Koh Phangan, I recommend to start with one of the diving companies in Chaloklum, in the north of the island. This avoids long boat trips to the dive site. The same for dive trips to Koh Tao, Chaloklum is the nearest place on Koh Tao and has a very good pier. There is a website about Chaloklum Koh Phangan that has many pictures and also links to all diving schools in Chaloklum, if your interested.
