Bang Tao diving
offers a lot of interesting sites in the famous
Andaman sea. There are many dive sites here offering a variety
of conditions to suit both beginners and advanced divers.
There is abundant sea life which includes moray eels and
lion fish.
With depths ranging from about 6-30 metres (20-98 feet) the sites
vary from shallow coral gardens to vertical walls making it indeed
a perfect place for divers of all expertise.
Always
dive according to your level of training. Check with your dive
center for safety, additional information and level required
for each dive site before entering the water.
The
visibility around Phuket and Bang Tao alike ranges
from about 10-15 metres(32-49feet) while the outer islands can
be from 20-30 metres (66-98 feet).
Water temperatures are a comfortable 27-29°C
(81-84°F). The best time to dive here is
from November to April.

on the dive center of your choice and the speed of their boats
you may visit
the best dive sites in Thailand such as
Similan islands which are accessible
in about 90 minutes boat ride.

be visted in just one day.
Some
liveaboard boats depart from Bang Tao. Depending on
the dive center, variations like 2-days/ 2-nights to Hin Daeng
and Southern Islands, 4-days/ 4-nights to the Similan and Richelieu
and 6-days/ 6-nights to Hin Daeng, Similan & Richelieu are

Koh
Wheo which is composed of two islets. Because it is
a protected area it's suitable for beginners and advanced divers
can also enjoy the marine life abundant under the big coral
tables. There are moderate currents,
however the surface can be rough.
Coral
Garden is a dive site where turtles can occasionally
be spotted as well as many kinds of reef fish.
Boulder
Cape is composed of huge granite boulders this site
has a lot of fish.
For shark lovers Shark Reef is site has black
tip sharks. Tuna and rays are regularly seen here as well. More
for the experienced diver the currents are liable to be strong
and the surface conditions rough
