the DEMA
Booth #1519. Latest advanced dive computer technology including
wireless air-integrated computers the main topic at HOT Oceanic
Seminar
Innovation in diving equipment? Oceanic’s got that market
covered in a big way. After introducing wireless computer
technology more than a decade ago, Oceanic has
taken this unique concept to new levels through its
military-inspired “DATAMASK HUD” and the new “Buddy
Pressure Check” feature on its next generation computers.
Now, Oceanic engineers are giving members of the dive
community a “sneak peek” inside this exclusive technology.
A pair of identical seminars on “Advanced Dive Computer
Technology” will be presented during the DEMA Show. The
programs are Wednesday and Friday November 8 and 10 from 10 am
to 11 am in Convention Center Room S220E. During this
informative time, attendees will learn about the new
“DATAMASK HUD” which features an air-integrated, wireless
computer built right into the mask. Sound too good to be true?
Not so. The US Military Special Forces has been
using a similar concept from Oceanic - Now,
Oceanic is pleased to reveal the consumer version.
The same wireless technology is also incorporated into
Oceanic’s next generation of dive computers. The Atom
2.0 and VT3 computers now feature something so unique,
it had to come from Oceanic. The “Buddy Pressure Check” is
available exclusively to divers using the Atom 2.0
and VT3. The feature allows those divers to monitor
their buddy’s air pressure during a dive. This major
advancement in diving technology will soon become an industry
standard – and once again, Oceanic has taken the lead.

X650 Voluntary recall:
SCUBAPRO is
conducting a voluntary recall of the X650 second stage
regulator. A manufacturing error could cause the main housing of
some regulators to change shape over time, and the cover and
diaphragm to become dislodged. If this occurs, air flow
will be interrupted and the regulator will no longer function
Only X650 second stage regulators purchased from authorized
Scubapro dealers from November 2004 through May 2006, are
affected by this recall. You can determine if you have one of
these units by looking for a visible raised bump located on the
right side of the regulator between the letter “C” and where
the mouthpiece attaches to the regulator body
At Scubapro, safety comes first
and we ask that you stop using the X650 second stage regulator
immediately.
Replacement Program
SCUBAPRO will replace your X650 regulator with a new
one within thirty (30) days or sooner if your regulator is found
to be one of those affected by this recall . In order to obtain
a replacement, register on line by filling out the form below.
After we obtain your name, address, and telephone number,
Scubapro will send you a return shipping box and UPS shipping
label. All you will need to do is to place the X650 regulator in
this box, seal the box, attach the UPS label, and drop it off at
any UPS shipping location. Once we have received your regulator,
we will begin processing your replacement order.

DAN has released 16 unique web-based courses with several being translated into multiple languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, German and Dutch.
This growth and outreach by DAN is a direct response to requests from regular DAN members, but it’s also been sparked by the people who represent DAN in the field on a daily basis: DAN Instructor Trainers and Instructors.
To better meet the needs of its educators and members, the DAN Training and Information Technology departments have worked together to find ways to use technology to better communicate with you.
“We wanted to make it as easy and convenient as we could for you to have the advantages of web-based, interactive multimedia educational/training courses,” noted Dr. Panchabi Vaithiyanathan, vice president of Information Technology for DAN. “So we developed our own custom-made application that allows DAN to create, develop and implement a web-based training core module for its trainers.”...
